I read everything that comes in. Pre-seed and earlier is the stage where I am useful, and I am most useful on the unglamorous part: how you get found, and how you turn attention into customers.
A link is fine. A PDF is fine. Two paragraphs in the message box is fine. What helps most is what you are building, who it is for, and what you have learned that is not obvious.
